Job listing: Tax Manager

We are looking for either a Tax Manager or a Senior Tax Manager to help perform high level work for our current clients in our Novato office. The right candidate will possess a desire to work in a smaller firm environment where there is more flexibility, and the team feels more like a family.   

This position can be fully remote for the right candidate and depending on their location. Currently team members that live in the Marin & Sonoma area are being asked to come into one of our two locations twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Review complex multi-state individual and business tax returns, including partnership/LLC/S corporation and corporate returns.

  • Review client accounting data and propose adjusting journal entries.

  • Manage tax planning strategies for individual and business clients, including complex tax projections.

  • Understand pertinent IRC Sections and Regulations.

  • Identify issues, perform tax research, draw conclusions, and document findings in written technical format.

  • Assist in representation of clients with government agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or tax required.

  • Licensed CPA.

  • Strong accounting skills and technical knowledge.

  • At least 5 years of experience with a CPA firm preferred.

  • Well versed in tax research, planning and preparation.

  • Desire to grow and excel.
