Raised in the Bay Area, Astrid joined Ghirardo CPA in 2020. She graduated from Sonoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Mathematics. She also earned her Master's degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. She is currently working towards her CPA licensure.

She started her career with Grant Thornton in the San Francisco office and transferred to the Los Angeles office for about three years to move back to San Francisco. Her experience has been with partnership and corporation tax compliance, and tax provisions. Since joining us, she has continued to gain experience in individual tax compliance.

Astrid is family-oriented, loves her kitten, enjoys working out and playing sports — she recently joined an outdoor adult soccer team.

Corporate Transparency Act — Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting

The Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) was enacted January 1, 2021, as part of the National Defense Authorization Act, representing the most significant reformation of the Bank Secrecy Act and related anti–money laundering rules since the U.S. Patriot Act. The CTA is intended to address and guard against money laundering, terrorism financing, and other forms of illegal financing by mandating certain entities (primarily small and medium size businesses) to report “beneficial owner” information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”).
